Women earn 32% less than men on average. How to show what the pay gap means? Especially for those who can change this reality in the future: young people.
The biggest players of the popular game Counter-Strike were invited to a match as unequal as that one seen in the labor market. In each round, one team earned 32% less than the other. With less money, it was impossible to buy the same game items. With this parallel, the understanding became even clearer, and people could realize the pay gap.
To prove the injustice that women face every day, an experience was created within one of the most played games in the world, Counter-Strike. And young people are the ones who can change this reality in the future.
Perfect. That was exactly what Greenpeace needed to talk to an audience that was so difficult to reach. After all, they need to know what world they’re going to inherit. Streamers are real idols. and when an idol talks, their fans listen. Greenpeace infiltrated the hard-to-reach young audience by turning gamers into endangered animals.
